Houston Threads is an organization that provides NEW clothes, shoes and personal care items for FREE to referred, at risk youth ages 12-21 in the greater Houston area. We target teens who are currently in or have been in the foster care system. We, as the Board of Directors, are committed to providing volunteer hours, the strategic leadership and fundraising support necessary to ensure the continuing success of Houston Threads.

Cathy Hamilton
Houston Threads
CEO and Founder
Houston Threads was born out of Cathy Hamilton’s experience as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) where she witnessed the indignity of teen girls selecting used clothing from a barrel.
Cathy recognized an unmet need and created a retail-like environment where our community’s often-forgotten teens in foster care can shop for NEW clothes, shoes, and personal items for FREE. We’re so happy to expand to Houston and serve teens in need! “Ms. Cathy,” as the youth call her, has worked tirelessly for over five years to bring her concept to full reality.
